Pain Management in San Jose

Find relief with a plan tailored to your body

Our chiropractic approach combines experience, individualized attention, and proven techniques to help you move with less pain.

Chronic Pain Relief Without Surgery or a Standing Prescription

Almaden Family Chiropractic has run pain management out of the same Cambrian Park office since 1982. Care starts by finding the mechanical source of your symptoms, whether that is a compressed nerve, a degenerating disc, arthritic change, or years of postural load, then treating it without surgery or long-term medication.

Most of what our San Jose chiropractors see is sciatica, back pain, migraines, and neck injuries after a collision. Sciatica alone affects a striking share of adults. You leave the first visit with an explanation, a plan, and a timeline.

Back Pain Treatment

“What a great place to come for treatment.” – Real Words from Our Clients

Conditions we help every week

Neck pain and stiffness

Posture, stress, and old whiplash all load the cervical spine. Our neck pain treatment pairs adjustments with soft tissue work to restore mobility and release the tension holding it there.

Low back pain and disc issues

Long desk hours and old injuries both end up in the lumbar spine. Alignment work and decompression reduce inflammation and protect against the flare-ups that keep coming back, which is where our back pain treatment begins.

Sciatica and leg pain

When the sciatic nerve is compressed, pain radiates down the leg and sitting becomes the worst part of the day. Sciatica responds well to decompression paired with targeted exercise.

Headaches and migraines

Tension headaches and migraines often trace back to the neck and upper back. Correcting those stress points reduces both frequency and intensity, and migraine care is one of our most requested services.

Whiplash after a crash

Highway 17 out of Los Gatos produces a steady stream of rear-end collisions, and whiplash symptoms often surface days later. Early whiplash treatment prevents the long-term stiffness that sets in when it is ignored.

Work-related strain and posture problems

Ten hours at a workstation in Cupertino or Sunnyvale loads the neck and mid-back in a specific, predictable way. We combine ergonomic coaching with hands-on care, and handle the documentation a work injury claim requires.

Areas We Serve Throughout California

Treatments tailored to your goals

Advanced Chiropractic Care

Techniques range from precise manual adjustments to low-force work with instruments. Which one you get depends on your exam, not on a house style, and our advanced chiropractic care covers Thompson, Gonstead, diversified, and Activator methods.

Pro-Adjuster instrument-assisted care

Computer-guided tapping that adjusts without twisting or cracking, with real-time feedback on joint motion. Patients nervous about a forceful adjustment usually start with the Pro-Adjuster.

Non-surgical spinal decompression

Controlled traction that takes pressure off discs and nerves. Spinal decompression is our most common recommendation for herniations and chronic low back pain.

Therapeutic ultrasound

Sound waves generate gentle heat that improves circulation and speeds soft tissue healing. Ultrasound therapy is often paired with manual care in the early weeks.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Mild current triggers muscle contraction to break spasm cycles and support recovery. EMS is particularly useful when muscle guarding is limiting your adjustment.

Massage Therapy

Veronica Rosales, LMT, brings 16 years of clinical bodywork and is trained in deep tissue, neuromuscular, lymphatic drainage, and prenatal work. Her massage therapy sessions are built around the same treatment plan as your adjustments.

Custom orthotics and gait support

When the problem starts at the foot, the spine keeps paying for it. Corrective orthotics improve balance and reduce joint stress over the long run.

Why patients choose Us

Same Cambrian Park office since 1982, and much of the team has been here nearly as long. Chronic pain needs someone who remembers what your spine looked like two years ago.

  • Care led by Dr. Alex Wong, Palmer College of Chiropractic, with over 200 hours of postgraduate training, alongside Dr. Stephanie Morales and Dr. Andrew Apuya of Life Chiropractic College West
  • A clinic manager with a Master of Public Health in epidemiology, which keeps our protocols anchored to evidence rather than habit
  • Digital X-ray on site, so structural findings get confirmed at the visit instead of after a referral
  • Consultations in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, with no interpreter needed
  • Weekday appointments from 7:30 AM and Saturday mornings, so patients commuting from Saratoga can be treated before work
  • Auto injury care on a lien basis, coordinated directly with your attorney
  • Written reassessment points, so you know when the plan should be working and when it should change
  • Second and third generations of Cambrian families still on our schedule

Straight Answers on Your First Visit, Not a Six-Week Wait

Pain that has already lasted months does not need another waiting room. Here is how a first appointment runs.

  1. Check-in with people who stay.
Jamie and Joanie have run our front desk for 18 and 13 years. Your benefits are verified before you arrive.
  2. A consultation built around how South Bay patients get hurt.
Hours at a workstation, length of the daily drive, what the pain has stopped you from doing. Most chronic cases here trace back to load, not to one injury.
  3. A hands-on exam, not just the spot that hurts.
Motion palpation and Gonstead-based evaluation, plus posture, range of motion, and the muscles guarding around the problem.
  4. Imaging only when it changes what we do.
Red flags, trauma history, or an exam finding that contradicts your symptoms. Otherwise we treat and reassess.
  5. Treatment the same visit.
You leave with care started, plus stretches or a workstation correction to hold it.

What to bring: recent imaging, a list of medications, your insurance card, and comfortable clothing.

What Treatment Costs and How It Gets Paid

Plans We Bill Directly

Aetna, Anthem, Medicare, United Health Care, and Med-Pay, along with other plans. We verify your specific chiropractic benefit before the first visit, not after.

What Moves the Number Up or Down

Whether imaging is needed, which therapies your plan covers, and how many sessions your condition requires. Decompression and other specialized therapies are handled differently by different plans. You get a projected visit count at the end of your exam.

Paying Without Insurance

Major credit cards, HSA and FSA accounts, and payment arrangements when a longer course of care makes sense.

Crash Injuries and Unsettled Claims

If your claim has not settled, we treat on a medical lien so recovery does not sit on hold waiting for an adjuster. Most personal injury patients pay nothing upfront.

Questions people ask before they book

Yes, and most of our patients do. California licenses chiropractors as portal-of-entry providers, so you book directly. A small number of plans still require a referral for reimbursement.

Regularly. We document exam findings, treatment dates, and progress in the format attorneys ask for, and coordinate directly with their office so nothing stalls at the records request stage.

Here. If your exam points to something structural, we take the images and review them with you on screen the same visit, so you leave knowing what we found instead of waiting on a report from an outside facility.

Yes. Dr. Wong is fluent in both and handles consultations directly, which matters when you are describing pain and want the nuance to survive the conversation.

Many Kaiser members see us as an out-of-network or self-pay option. We tell you exactly what that costs before you book, not after.

Getting Here Is the Easy Part

You have probably put this off because booking it felt like one more thing to manage. It is not. We start at 7:30 AM on weekdays and open Saturday mornings, and same-day slots open up regularly for acute pain and accident injuries.

Patients come to us from Willow Glen, Blossom Valley, South San Jose, and Campbell, and our Cambrian Park chiropractic office has free parking right out front and a step-free entrance.
